The Cook Islands Coral Reef Health Program

Led by Associate Professor Troy Gaston, University of Newcastle Australia, our team works with in partnership with local managers and reef communities to build an understanding of the health of the coral reef ecosystems. Our team works to build capacity locally and leave the knowledge, tools, and skills with the communities who live, work and rely on coral reefs. Our goal is to aid communities in adding advances in coral reef science tools to their local knowledge, understanding and needs for their coral reef ecosystems.
